Tough call. I prefer the look of the clean, standard bumper. The S has definite highway speed advantages as mentioned above. Given your car already has a *Bond-esque* ride height setup; perhaps you should develop a quick change bumper setup ;-)

I'd give the std. a try. It would be a interesting, direct demonstration of the S spoiler advantages at least.

    My .02...and worth much less...

Standard bumper w/tape on bumpers front and rear, no covers over fog light holes.

Change the turn signal lenses to silver trim, change the black horn grills to chrome....

    Hones right into one period....

+1 standard bumper. As mentioned you can always change between the two.
    BTW your car looks great!

Lots of great comments with great explanations. You guys have conviction and I like that.

I agree with Linden. He is seeing more than just the bumper swap. Bright work looks great on these cars and really define the era.

If you decide on tape then my preference is 7/8" and yes 1/8" makes a difference...IMO.

Either way the car looks great!

EDIT: Ck out Boyle's car for a great example of a silver early plain bumper car.

I agree with this also. ST flares would look good too....a bit more work though.

I'll always like the clean look w/o the S bumper.

So from what I'm reading here is that most of us agree the standard bumper looks better (including myself) on the early cars but the S bumper is more desirable?

Hmm, then maybe I should sell my S bumper for an easy grand and pick up a standard one for $300

We'll I would think we would all agree that the S bumpers belong on the cars that came with them from the factory.

I agree with ya Phil, I don't think I'd ever sell my S bumper. But I do plan on installing a standard one someday soon. They do have such a clean look to them.
