Having been there...you couldn't build a car like this for twice the price. If you really want to go racing you should check out this car.

How many hours are on the engine? Does the car include any spare wheels? What make tire is the car set up for? What does the car weigh?

Has won the CP and CP3 Championship 5 out of the last 8 years.
Sorry, but what racing series is this?

BTW, it is a beautiful car.

This car races almost exclusively with VARA, out here on the left coast. I've run with Mark, and this car, a lot - and he always passes me like I'm parked, and I ain't THAT slow... We have lot's of fast, 2.0 & 2.5 liter 911s in VARA. We don't allow any aero (beyond the original-style S spoiler in front) on C Production Porsches here either...Cars that have aero run as "modified" with us. It's a fun group. We run about 10 times a year. The racing is always tight. Nowadays we've got a real rivalry with the original series 240Zs going on...

Mark isn't kidding - it's a good, fast car, and he's an excellent shoe. This is a car worth considering if you're thinking about going vintage racing. It's true: there's NO WAY one can build/replicate this same car for the asking price. This is a buy - even if you were to completely go through it after purchase...

    Hope this helps
    Cheers

    Thanks.
I knew the car would race in CP in SCCA (1960's/early 1970's). I am familiar with VARA as their races are covered by Vintage Motorsports magazine.

It is all very confusing these days. None of the vintage groups have the same rules for CP (and none of them match the period SCCA rulebook ).

That is interesting. I have only raced against two 240Z's. One at this year's Mitty (and in past years), and one at this year's Watkins Glen event (a picture of us is in this month's VM magazine). You just don't see many of them on the east coast.

Sadly, the owner of the 240Z I raced with at the Mitty passed away this summer. His car:

The first rule of racing is to buy a sorted car that someone else has already lost $0.50 on the dollar. I've been in vintage racing for 18 years (and SCCA before that).

    Car still for sale

    CAR IS STILL FOR SALE.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words and support on the car. I just sold the trailer to a fellow VARA member. Now the car must go. THis is 100% turnkey car. Only thing you have to do is add gas...

I dont have an extra set of wheels as we have another race car in the family that will use my extra set. But I do have a lot of spares that would come with it.

I can deliver the car within 50 miles of Burbank Area. It will be super clean, and ready to go.

    Mark
