Plate on the drivers door frame

    Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum, but i have been a early 911 Porsche person for some time. I have have just purchased a 1972 911, can anyone tell me what the plate on the drivers door jamb / frame is meant to indicate, it has some numbers on it ?

    thanks in advance

    Clayton

Clayton, there are 2 plates - one on the front post and one on the rear.

The one on the front has the paint color code on it. There was a thread about this last week: Paint code tag removal.

The rear tag has the vehicle's VIN and manufacture date. There are examples in this thread: VIN Tags

    Cheers,
    Michael
