    Trying to establish parts prices

Have some odd bits that I'm trying to price:

NOS 935 magnesium fan drive housing.
    RSR centerlock rear hub.
NOS '73 911S/ RS aux oil thermostat (hangs on the tank).
    NOS '66-'71 911 Oil Tank
NOS 911 107 001 00 Oil Tank. Bolt on filter console, hose clamp style S-hose outlet. Unusual in that it has no oil level sender allowance- I thought it was cool when I bought it 25 years ago but have no idea what original application is- but would like to know.
    NOS H-1 headlight.
    NOS H-1 lense.
Pair NOS Porsche Hella halogen headlights (replaces sealed beam bulb- I ordered these 20 years ago for a 914-6).
NOS 901 572 061 30 gas heater muffler. I know, I know but surely someone out there cares about authenticity.
NOS '65-'66 911 wood dash face kit.
'69-'71 S aux oil cooler system.
    Used 914-6 oil tank (excellent).

I know this can't be popular with parts speculators but I'm really not sure how to price these and the eBay route can be spotty at best- and expensive.

    Thanks for the help.

I can weight in on the 914-6 tank. Used should be from $500 to $700.00 depending on the condition.

Is this the Phoenix Frank Beck that I watched beat the pants off everything at Miller Motor Sports Park in the 2 liter challenge?

    H-1

$800 or more (400 each) for a pair. I would guess since it is only 1, you might get a little more.

    oil cooling

I would say if you have the lines and the cooler, it would start at $1500 or more. Add a tank and thermostat, make it $2000

Eric, If I beat the pants off of everyone it was only because the right guys weren't at that event. Thanks for your input.

Still looking for info on the oil tank and pricing on everything. You guys must have an opinion of value on this stuff.

    Rare parts philosophy 101

    When I am interested in purchasing a rare part there are certain questions that I ask;

    1. Is this part readily available?
    2. Is it available at all?
    3. Can I fabricate or reproduce this part at a cost that is substantially less than or equal to fair market price for an excellent used example?
    4. What is the intrinsic value premium for this part because it is NOS?
    5. What is the demand for the part?

This is nothing more than my opinion and welcome other, more knowledgable insight regarding this subject.

This gas heater muffler is a great case study; based on all of the inquiries on this muffler I would say that demand exists (at least by a handful of enthusiasts). Also answering the other questions honestly would lead me to price this muffler quite a bit higher than the ridiculous offers that I've recieved. Having said that, a ridiculous offer is better than no offer and I do appreciate an individual's willingness to purchase said part.

While I appreciate the counsel by some who have sincerly offered an opinon of value for these items, it reminds me that at the end of the day I should probably advertise the parts, shoot high and let the free market shake out the value or go the eBay route. I'll probably start posting ads on the classified board today.
I hope that I would not be accused of being greedy simply because I would like to get fair market value for parts that I have spent 5-30 years collecting.

    Many thanks.

    unknown oil tank

Still trying to figure out what this NOS oil tank is (I'll post pics later):

    No level sender allowance
    '73- S hose fitting
Bolt on style oil filter console

Did ST's use a level sender?

    Thanks.
