    Valve Cover Leak

    Hello All:
I have a 71S that appears to be leaking through the studs and perhaps through the cover perimeter. It had a new gasket installed but it didn't help.
I have heard that the cover can warp with heat ( the engine has headers
aligned along the length of the cover). Also hear that there is a valve cover
    upgrade.
    Any thoughts/remedies would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    50/50

The factory mag covers do warp, then after surfacing will warp again... they are light, thin, and somewhat fragile...

The factory service bulletins suggested to 'up-grade' to the 'new' alloy covers.... then to the turbo lowers...

I have done all 4 years ago... They're heavier, and don't warp.
You can 'work' the alloy upper covers to look very good... it takes fine filing the casting ridges then bead blasting, then black powder coating.
The turbo lowers are fine just the way they are....

    Hope this helps...
    Cheers
