'74 Euro Carrera Project For Sale

This is one of my last project cars I would like to sell. It maybe one of the best (?). Real European Carrera w/ a real Euro Carrera motor. Check out my ebay ad:

Some of you might find the history information and chassis number interesting.

Curious, what is the serial # of the engine?

You are correct that is not a correct production # for a '74 Coupe. The correct format would be 104XXXX and it would not have the * stamped on either side of the #. Those are normally used on both sides of the trunk VIN stamping. If you look behind the lower dash area where the # is stamped is there evidence of a previous # or do you just see the *0070020*?

No Brian, I don't see any signs of tampering. I asked the Austrian gentleman who wrote the RS book, Georg Konradsheim, what he thought about the chassis being a factory re-body or a private race team car and also asked him to look into it. Eventually Georg got back with me and was very cryptic in his response to me, but the response was something to the effect it could be both. He guessed that the re-body would have most likely occurred in the year 1977. I tried to work with individuals that had access to what little records were left from Kremer Racing and they seemed to be optimistic at first, then wouldn't return any of my emails.

The motor that I have to go with the car came from another donor car. It is a 911/83 motor, but from '75, not '74.
