Thread: Help Needed: RS Flare measurements for OEM replacement flares

  1. #1

    Red face Removing RS Flares!

I am removing my RS flares (they are already spoken for), but am in a bit of a pickle. I can't seem to find the seam for my flares at the top of the wheel arch. I thought I found it, but cut much too high for my replacement stock panels and in looking at the pics on the Pelican retail site, I think this is confirmed. Fortunately, I stopped cutting early enough to avoid needing to spend too much time undoing my handiwork.

Does anyone have an uninstalled set lying around where you could throw a ruler on it and take a pic of the following dimensions?

    Thanks!

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.

Back from the garage; apparently I am not an idiot, because my cuts and marks are dead nuts to the drawing above. Final assessment? My damned stock flares were cut too short. F--K!!!

So now I can go searching for another set of stock flares or try scabbing in steel for the 9" x 1" section that won't get covered.

Passenger side flare is off using these above measures. They were dead nuts based on post inspection; I pretty much hit the seams! Fit of the narrow flares is quite good; doesn't look like I will have to scab in much, if any, material. Some pics:

    Looking good Kenik!!

Great to see you going back to narrow body. I wonder if this will be common in the near future? Stash away all those narrow panels
