    battery charging assistance

Thanks for any help. I am not a DYI'er in any way. My 73S didn't wake up from winter hibernation this spring. I finally got my favorite towing folks to assist yesterday with a jump. I drove her home, let it run about 45 minutes before shutting off. I went out and tried to start about 6 hours later. Slight turn over then dead. I have a Shumacker charger that I connected this am. Still no luck. When I connected to the + pole I got sparking. The batteries are still 6 volt Interstates.

Thoughts, ideas any help greatly appreciated. As soon as I get her running she is gong up for sale.

    Thanks.

you may want to start with connections, making sure terminals are clean
also the sparking when connecting is worth investigating ( maybe cross wiring)

oh, forgive my ignorance but arent the twin batteries 12V each, hooked up in parallel like in RV's?
