    Fog/Driving Lights Install

I'm installing Hella 169's on a 1971 and am having a problem with setting them level. When I tighten the nut to the bracket on the car the lights are facing down somewhere between 20-30 degrees and are not level and don't look correct. The rear of the Hella light has a rubber gasket and a metal plate; I assume that the gasket and plate sets infront of the attached bracket for the lights and you install the nut and tighten?
What am I missing; could the attached brackets have been bent and need adjustment or what?

    Thanks for your help

    Hello Robert,

I found the same on a NOS set installed on a new porsche bumper. These also tilt down slightly. The pics in fact make them look more tilted then they actually are. (car in the pics is not fully finished).

    I hope they help

    Alan

Are yours rear mount? I have 139's (which are identical to the 169's except for mounting) and I mount them to the holes on the vertical straight facing the front - straight ahead. 139s are rear mount and the 169's are the top - 45 degree mount. You may need to get the rear mounts if your bumper does not have the top mount for the 169's.
