I took 30 photos between showers this morning and I can email to all serious buyers. I am asking $72,500. I can be reached between 830-500 at 314 955 9703. Joe Delleville
She was marketed by RGruppe co founder Cris Huergas to me in July 04. In fact, the above description is Cris' with updated mileage and location. If you are a Pelican type you can look in their history, page 252, for a very spirited and interesting conversation about the $30,000 barrier for the S model.
The PPI was done by GD Racing in San Bruno CA. Compression #'s were 140,140,135,135,140 and 140. Overall condition was described as "mint". They pointed out she would benefit from fuel lines and breather hose replacement and this was done by GD.
Since my ownership, all work has been done at Reid Vann in St. Louis. Generally regarded as one of the best independant shops in the Mid West, they pulled the motor in early 05 redoing all seals and gaskets, oil return tubes and adding turbo valve covers(have orig) and tensioners
She has annual maintenance at RV and just got new oil and 2 new Interstates this week. I would not hesitate to drive her to either coast. In fact we were supposed to be in Charlotte this week but work prevented that.
What about history? I wish I had all of the service history but I only have my own. I do have the following from another of our Pacific Northwest members who owned her until early 04. This is from his web site.
"This car was a find. I was contacted by the owner, a retired gentleman fom NJ. He indicated that he was getting ready to sell a number of cars & he felt I was the kind of person who would appreciate the kind of cars he had.We became aquainted by a number of emails and phone calls and I bought the car.
He had had the car for 15 years. He had his own Porsche shop and had painted the car it's original Aubergine in 1998. He had driven it few miles during his ownership and it had a documented 69,683 miles on it. He said that it ran fine and all mechanicals were in order when he put it away to paint.
I was a little apprehensive while awaiting delivery as I didn't know the previous owner and I didn't know what kind of condition the mechanicals were in as the car had not been started during the inspection. I voiced my apprehension to the seller and he replied, yo will be astounded when the car arrives. I've been astounded before but it's usually been in the wrong direction. When the car was backed out of the trailor it quickly became apparent that my fears were unfounded. The seller was a man of his word. After we completed thefinal assembly, the car ran like it had just been driven off the showroom floor. I am still astounded by it. I've owned a lot of cars over the years and this is the best driving one I've ever had.
The car has a number of options as well.We haven't touched the engine yet but the car runs perfectly.
Summary
This car is the most fun to drive of all the Porsches that I have ever owned. It has retained its original "Porsche Feel", that almost indefinable driving experience, light, tight & responsive steering, tight & firm suspension, smooth and responsive engine, smooth and quiet transaxle."
I am going to try to add pictures and I'd love to speak with those of you that are interested. You will find that while my passion is Porsche, my technical knowledge is limited and my mechanic, John Rhodes at RV knows all about the car.
