    Ebay 1967 Sofie: Merits review.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-...3756.m14.l1318

Hopefully, this is not owned by a board member as this is not meant to offend. It is an interesting car in the public marketplace that IMO merits critique. It appears to be a high valuation for a car that has been modified to very individual requirements.

    AAAAHHHHHHH!!! My eyes are burning!!!!

Ok Ok, here are my thoughts:

    1. Arena red is a good color on a 96 993 Twin Turbo, but a bad color on a longnose.
    2. Blackout and body color trim is not OK on a longnose.
    3. It's value is as a driver, since it is a 912 with transplanted 911 bits. It would be imprudent to think you were going to take it back to stock-ish. As a driver, if you disagree with me on #1 and #2, its value is not $60k, or $50k, or $40k or ???

    I agree

This is a 912 with a non-original engine. Nice paint, but someone got it all over the Targa bar and trim by accident. Like many others post on the board "I hope he gets all he wants...." so I can smile about the money I am spending on restoring my 1968 911 Softie, which, BTW looks FANTASTIC in its original light ivory. I can't wait to get it back home

    Curt,

That is a stunning car! What color is it? Could not figure out if it is a shade of blue or Irish Green or something else. Fantastic!

I should not blow my money on all this Italian stuff and by a SWB softie instead.

    Thanks!!

I've changed the wheels back to the original 4.5' x 15's ..for some reason the guy I bought the car from preferred the 14's. I also yanked the incorrect seats and put correct sport seats into it.

Mike, that's Aga blue...kinda changes color on you depending upon the light. That pic is prior to my purchase.

    regards,

Well, I know who to turn to should I finally decide to go for a SWB S - Coupe or Targa.
