    67S fuchs finish

I'm looking for a definitive answer, if there is one, regarding
black paint on 67S fuchs. I have seen just as many photos of
    wheels like this:

As I have of wheels like this:

That I'm starting to believe that either are correct. Anybody
care to hazard a guess when the changeover occurred?

I have VIN 306036S (from memory) and it came with a 4.5 fuch spare with what appears to be the original dunlop tire (still has the rubber nipples and casting marks on the tire). The finish on the wheels has the black paint similar to picture two. There are only a couple of scratches near the bolt holes indicating it was mounted at least once (but maybe only once given the condition of the tire and original wheel paint).

    Hope that helps.

All of the original finish 4½s I have seen are like those on the red car.

One thing - the real wheel has two different finishes on the silver parts.

I can't remember exactly where the break occurs , but there is a more matt finish in the deep part of the wheel (above the pedals) and a more polished finish on the rim.

All 4 1/2 X 15 Fuchs from the 67S are ONLY this way. These pics are used original wheels. The anodized finish from the factory is the same all over dull/shiny. If they are really shiny on the pedals it is because they were rubbed/polished/worn out. That's it.

    What way ?

It looks like yours has a different finish on the rim than in the depths.
That is the way I remember it on the original set I saw.
I remember the difference was quite clear .

Can't remember if the pedals were shiny though.

The surface of the petals are polished before anodizing. The "depths" are very rough on the 4.5's, some more than others. I would assume the rougher ones are the earlier ones. The scoring down in the depths can be very pronounced. I'll try to get a pic in the next couple of weeks when I get to my wheels.
