    FS: S-Aluminum Calipers

    This is a set of '71 to '72.5 cast aluminum S calipers, they have the X in the cirular impression. They have been in dry storage for 30+ years and still have the original gold color on them. However, I would expect that they will need to be rebuilt. $1000. plus shipping.

    John,
    I'm sorry to sidetrack you, but can you tell me what the significance is of the X in the circular depression. I'm restoring a 71E and my S calipers have the same detail.

    I think those are the late calipers (post 72.5)? At least they seem to look like the calipers Eric commented on in this previous post.

    Hi,

    Those are the later version of the S caliper. Here is a pic with both types. The later ones are in the middle.
