    Thumbs up

    - Ray called me at work saying he was having trouble posting remotely to the board...
    - I said 'send to me and I'll post'm'....
    - The cell phone connection was remarkable, sounded like he was next door......

    However.....
His explanation of where he was and what he was doing was greatly impaired by what he said was 'a full day of good German beer'.....

Ya'know, his face does look a little red in that car....

    ... rock on Ray...we're all jealous ....

    Hey Curt,

Looks like Ray was having to much fun to be able to report daily, lets hope he can remember the trip at all.

We may have to get the report from Thorsten.

That's a great pic. I met up with Ray and some of the superb Dutch 911 crowd in Le Mans last Saturday week for a beer, good laughs all round.

    I'm back

    Well, what can I say?

Sorry I could not write when I was there. I had problems with my iPhone cookies. I could read posts, but when I logged in and ried to post, it kicked me out.

For me, the trip was even BETTER than the "real" 2006 24 Hours of Le Mans when I went with Thorsten and Will Sanchez. I like the vintage cars better!

Many have asked me to compare it to the Monterey Historics.
From a strictly cars and racing standpoint, Le Mans. They race the cars there. They are not overly restored.
The track, Monterey is easier to walk around. Le Mans is obviously bigger, has the history. For having races over one hundred years, you would think they would have more food stands. Waited over 30 minutes for a beer and a hamburger. Don't ask how much it costs.
Although I highly recommend to put on your bucket list of car events, for me personally, I like the USA.

Now the good stuff. In no particular order....have about 400 photos and 3-4 hours of video from the 2 week trip.

To see these cars at NIGHT, 2 a.m. going up the hill through the Dunlop Tire bridge, full throttle.....
