I like my handle. I use it in other forums and I feel more attached to it when I am consistent across the boards. I have my real name below my handle in the space for the "registered user". I think this should be another option.

I agree that names are good but some guys don't need to change.

I use my last name. Nothing to hide. Most people think it's made up anyway.

i think we should. we have the same policy of first name last name on the 912 Registry forum. I have hoffman912 out of habit b/c it was the name i registered on rennlist (the 1st forum i ever joined), and pelican shortly after. I would be happy to change my screen name to Harry Hoffman.

If they had been using their actual name, I would know right away who they are. If you have something to hide, use a different name, otherwise use your real name, just my .02cents worth

Since I already use my given name you know my vote. That other gruppe I belong to already requires that you use your given name. I hadn't thought of some of the problems Tom mentioned (sorry I missed meeting you at Parade) but if membership requirements help solve this, well then maybe we kill two birds...etc etc. like financing this site. As to the problems that having a handle has created as Esoterik has brought up, can we not allow both?

I started with a handle, but added my name to my signature so that anyone who reads my posts, knows who it is.
If I had to choose between name or handle, I am fine with name.

I like handles. They are like a secret identity. I can say, "I'm Max Sluiter" for a formal, businesslike introduction with no chatting. If I see that the person is a Pelicanite or Early S guy or Porsche guy in general, I say "Hi, I am Max" and say my handle is "Flieger". Then they go "Ahh- that's you? Wow, you are a lot different than I pictured you..." and the conversation starts.
