    RS Flare Measurement

Can anyone please tell me what the measurement is from the centre area of the flat outside lip of the flare to the corresponding area of the inside body work?

I.E. the inner bodywork on the inside of where the wheel sits.

I hope this makes sense! Body work guy wants to get it right

    Cheers & thanks

    Cam,

    If I'm understanding you corectly...

My car measures 11 3/4 inches or 30mm from where the tape measure hits the inner wheel well over the tire to the middle of the outside of the flare...

BTW - My car differed about 3mm less (about 11 11/16 = 27mm) from side to side...

It will be interesting if more responses come with different numbers...

Hope this was it... hope this helps

    Here's an old pic...

    Cheers

    RS Flairs

Mine measure 11 1/2 inches flair to body both sides at the top of the tire. We need someone with an RS to give us some measurements.

I believe the measurements that Chuck and Mike have provided are both correct. i.e. about 11.5" to 11.75". Because these flares were welded on at the factory or later they are not all exactly the same. When my '73S was flared in the early 1980's the guy installing them widened them approximately 1" to fit race tires and my flares measure 12.5" (exactly) on both sides and the difference is noticable. (See picture). So if you are going after a stock look I think you want to be in the 11.5" or slightly wider range.
