More special interest groups. Sheesh.
How about: the "The Ivory 911 Built in March 1967 Club"?

Nice to see some love for the "pedestrian" 911.....
I like mine.....
Aaron- I agree, what's not to like about your mint SC?
Tom- It's just a natural progression as these cars get older that the
special groups will evolve. This bunch (Impact club) began as a bunch
of Carrera 3.0 guys, I believe.
They have since moved out to the M491's and other "unique" shorthoods.
All in all, they're a pretty good natured bunch.
Besides that, there are just not enough "Ivory 911 Built in March 1967's"
to go around. I find that to be a good thing!

SC's were some of the most "bullet-proof" 911's ever built. I suppose the bad taste of the '74-'77 created them through better engineering.
They have bigger rod bolts than a Carrera and like the Duracell Energizer "Bunny" they just keep going and going...
Best,
Tom

I have always like the 911SC's and 1984-1989 Carrera's. I think their current market values have bottomed. Most of the original little factory issues have now been corrected. Some of them even have an air conditioner that works.Impact Bumpers is a site in celebration of the Porsche 911s built from 1974 to 1989.
I also heard through the rumor mill that a book dedicated to the 1974-1989 cars will soon be released. I suggest that it will help create new interest in these cars.
Thanks for the link Peter.
Just for the record, I didn't start the site as a Carrera 3 group; it was all 74-89 from the word go. I launched IB as I felt the bumper cars were under-represented on the English-speaking Internet outside of the US (Pelican).
The site is two and a half years old and doing just fine - beginning to reach out into Europe and hook up with other enthusiasts. We have just come back from Classic Le Mans and our next outing is a track day at Snetterton in Norfolk in two weeks. Christmas party in Birmingham, UK on December 6, if anyone is in the area and fancies karting and a curry
Cheers for the interest,

Nonetheless, you did choose a website name that is very hard to find.
What? A Christmas party that is directly against our racing season in the SE (that is the lower south eastern section of the eastern coast)?Christmas party in Birmingham, UK on December 6

Why don't you just load those cars on a transport and have your Christmas party at a real race track?
We can promise balmy temperatures, cute FL girls, cold beer, and some real grilled beef.
Best regards,
Doc

No cars allowed at the Christmas party, the focus there is all about pushing each other off the kart track and tall tales over spicy food and mucho beer afterwards. I believe there may also be a private gentlemens' club on the agenda later for some of the non-Catholics attending LOL
Suffice to say, I won't be sharing pics from this event!
