Thumbs up Ventura Auto Fest Sept 13/14

This just in from John D. ..........

    Guys,

    The show is on!
I talked to Fred today at World Class Motoring and he
has the money and the contracts are signed, now all we need are the Vendors and a large crowd.
Please forward this to anyone that would be interested.
    We can make this work!

    John Dilger

World Class Motoring is proud to announce that the 2008 Ventura Show will
indeed take place this year. The official dates are September 13th and 14th,
2008. We would like to invite all of the past vendors, exhibitors, and
attendees to contact us directly so that we can expedite the process of
registration and the set up of vendor spaces.
We will be managing the show and working in conjunction with Bob Campbell
this year, and although time is short we will make every effort to make the
show fun and profitable for all participants, and the transition as seamless as
    possible.

any website for the show ?

is it going to be basically the same set-up as before ?
or are other car brands going to be invited ?

World Class Motoring seems to sell a little of everything accourding to their website,

Is there going to be a Sunday swap meet ?

    thanks for the info

    Dave

They are trying to bring it back exactly as it was. They are working with the Campbells so that they get it right.

There will be a swap meet and Porsches are the featured marque. There is not an updated website yet.

If you have any other questions, please email me at maxsluiter@earthlink.net. I am a representative of World Class Motoring to help with the show.

I can get answers from the owners quickly if you have urgent questions.

Latest word from World Class Motoring:

Swapmeet on Sunday, Porsche is the marque, same as before.

The website, www.german-autofest.com, will be updated by the weekend. They are working on it now.

    Exclamation Please RSVP - ASAP

At our Registry meeting this morning we figured we MUST have a participation 'head count' for a number of Registry commitments...

So... Please read the info below, and RSVP to John Dilger as soon as possible..... like NOW, this weekend !!!!!!

    * We'll also need committed help for Sat. and Sun. at our Registry booth as well, please contact John with the times you can help *

The Early 911S Registry is working with the Ventura Marriot (same hotel as last year) to set up a big discounted room rate, reserved parking at the hotel and a reception for members of the Early 911S Registry and R Gruppe with free hors d’oeuvers and a cash bar on Sat. night in the front parking lot with our cars. The room rate will be $135.00 for a single or a double room, compared to the standard of $195.00 for a single. Don’t call the hotel yet, I just got the conformation today from World Class Motoring. I have the contract and as soon as I sign it and get the registration code from the hotel, I will send it out to everybody. Please send this on to any Porsche owners, parts suppliers and vendors that might be interested. Any Early 911S Registry members planning to attend the reception must RSVP to johndilger@aol.com with their membership number so that we have a people count and can order enough food. A separate email will be sent by the R Gruppe to its members. Non members of the Early 911S Registry and RGruppe are welcome, but will need to RSVP to johndilger@aol.com and will be charged a small fee, this will be determined at the time of the contract signing and will be in the email sent out after the contract is signed.

World Class Motoring needs volunteer help as well. People to help park cars for a few hours in the morning and other jobs like directing traffic.

There are only three guys from World Class so they could use any help they can get running the show.

I have heard that PCA Santa Barbara Region will not be providing support for the event this year as they have in the past. The guys at World Class Motoring were nice enough to take over the event and keep it going so I think it would be a nice act of goodwill to see the Early 911S Registry helping to make the show better into the future.

I also should mention that the early 911 is the honored car for this event.

So, come out and support the show.
