All my german equipment is either busted or sold...sigh....in the market for a decent non-sunroof tub!!!!!!! Help me get back to autocrossing!!!
I agree. I am sure it is the car that was in the FS garage at VIR. I am not sure if this picture was taken before and after it went into the VIR corral.Originally Posted by berettafan

I am very familiar with the history of these cars. But, IMO, they were just not engineered to race in this current competitive environment. If one wants to stay on the same lap with a 356 (or small displacement flat six 911), you must tune the engine (originally designed for tractors) to a high tune. The drivetrain (mostly the tranny) wasn't engineered for the current (sticky) race tire technology.
I spent a lot of money trying to do so in the late 1990's. My old British car ("the Money Pit"):

Ed, that is a beautiful 911S.
That looks like my old RS replica with painted wheels and different color Carrera graphic. That shipped to Germany last summer. Reason I think its mine is the color--it was a BMW silver, and the sticker on the driver side of the windshield. Also mine had those brakes. Though my car did have vintage sport seats in it.

Looks like a car that was on eBay several months ago. If so, I spoke with the owner . . .a NASCAR technician that built it. Lots of cool fab'd stuff on that car and I think the car sold on eBay for somewhere in the neighborhood of 55K.
