    Calling All Pedal Police

I'm about to remove and rebuild a set of pedals from a 72T for use in my 71T. Is there any major difference between the two (asking mostly because of the 71 clutch system versus 72)? Anyone got any tips or tricks for rebuilding/upgrading and maybe some proud moment photos I can work from? I'm sorta preparing several winter projects for my whacko obsession but it's gotta beat knitting quilts....

    Paul,
I'm about to tackle this one also on my 69T. Try chasing down "Shawn 69E" as I know he had a pedal set for sale that he did new bushings etc.

Thanks Paul. I don't seem to come up with a good search here for this subject but I'm probably not using the right search string. Will try again. I'd like to rebuild the ones I have so I know the inner working of the pedal set.

    Hi Paul,

Pelican has a good tech article on the rebuild. See the link below:

It wasn't that hard. Just hard to get to. Your knees will be hurting at the end of the day.

    Good luck.

I just did the pedal cluster on my 67 and followed the Pelican tech note. It really was not tough at all. It took three hours not including the bead blasting and painting.

Thanks fellas...should make for a great way to pass time in the winter rebuilding one to perfection. That Pelican article is well done. I really need to spend more time over there skimming the tech forum.

For durability go powdercoat or POR15 the rattle can paint will be damaged by the time you finish replacing the bushes.

I used the POR-15 as well and the pedals look great.
