Leaf Green 1972 911 T for sale SR coupe

Rust free CA car with S package and A/C. I owned it for about 8 yrs and did the work myself over that time period (for more background info see article in one of the older S reg news letters that explains how I got the car).

Rebuilt original 2.4 liter eng and 915 trans with approx 35K miles. Case savers, forged crank is STD/STD, WISECO forged pistons 8.0:1 CR, T cams, turbo squirters, the MFI pump has been re calibrated by Gus. New Optima battery; new repo Recaros installed and comes with decent condition original seats as well. The following exterior work has been done: rechroming original bumpers and guards, new decos, new window rubber and fuzzies, new lenses, old original fog lights in so-so condition, paint is PPG two stage custom matched for color to the original paint on the sun roof panel (I still have some single stage left I used on the door jams), wheels by Al Reed, complete brake system overhaul including upgrading to BMW front calipers. I disassembled, cleaned and painted all the gauges and they work - including oil level. Car comes with whatever extra parts I find that belong to this car.

It's about time it gets suspension bushings but still drives well and has made several trips to SO CAL shows without problems. It also needs some interior finishing and I have a couple of sets of original map pockets and arm rests that I will include. I also have the original AM/FM radio with the Hirshmann antenna. This car will start every morning and drive away immediately without complaining - ask me how I know. I build my cars to drive and I suffered great pains in making it do just that, which is why I neglected to finish the interior bits and rebuild the original but functioning suspension because it wasn't a priority.

I have all receipts showing that the hard and expensive part has been done and whatever is left to do is weekend stuff. Call or email for more info and pictures. Asking $35K sertecturbo@sbcglobal.net 510 430 0833 M-F 8:30-5:00 PST.

Below is a reply to someone asking for more info about the car. I thought I would just post it. I will get pictures of the VIN and other details in a day or so and post them.

First off, any real prospective buyer will get full disclosure of what I know/remember about the car, plus it will take me a while to remember all the details because I did the work a long time ago and it’s not fresh in my head - it was just too much to put in the ad.

Rust free implies this is a very solid original bodied car without stories. I did not do any weld in panel replacement and there doesn’t appear to be evidence of that in the past. I did not put the car on a rotisserie, so what I could see while it was on the ground or on jack stands looked really nice. The only major rust I found was a nickel sized hole at the bottom of the RT side A pillar and some surface around the battery boxes (no holes). I wire brushed the battery area, seam sealed and sprayed with undercoating inside the boxes and along the very front. The green paint you see in the trunk and under the hood is original. There is filler on the RT side below the oil tank door and some minor spots here and there. I replaced the RT side door because the original was full of filler – no doubt the same event damaged the door, the front part of the quarter and dented the oil tank. I should note the damage appeared to have been caused by brushing against a pole rather than being T boned. No other major crunches that I’m aware of or found evidence of while doing the body work. The same dented oil tank is currently installed (after a rust repair near the top using gas tank epoxy) and has been functioning for the last 8 yrs. I just remembered the RT side headlight bucket had one area with deep pitting from rust but not enough to warrant a fender replacement. I just wire brushed and sealed with paint or something like that. Really what I did was a very nice paint job and engine+trans rebuild. I did not strip the pan or inside the floors or remove the fenders. I believe whatever body damage the car had happened on Niles’ watch.

The sunroof works but the headliner panel is not installed.

I think the gaps are normal. I have no way of knowing for sure if all the panels are original to the car. The evidence of leaf green paint under the hood, on the sun roof panel and a few other places implies those panels may be original. Also the fact the car was out of circulation for many years, and me knowing the previous owner well, leads me to believe nothing except some poor body work was done to the car during that time – bodywork that I had to fix later. The car was kind of like a time capsule from the mid 80’s – early 90’s.

Non original parts on the car? I guess you are referring to aftermarket accessories? Only the seats come to mind. Steering wheel is original (was leather wrapped but the covering was tore up so I removed what’s left and now it’s bare). Most of the other parts like mirrors, door handles, dash switches, etc… were on the car and I just cleaned them and put them back on. Oh, I replaced the speedometer because the original failed so I got a working one from EASY and put it in. It works but does not look as crisp as the original gauges. When I got the car it read 56K miles but the odometer was not functional, so no idea how long Niles drove the car with a non functioning odometer and I know I drove it that way for a while too. The replacement speedo read 43K miles when I got it and I think it reads 68K now.

I had a couple of leaks a few years ago but I fixed them. One was the oil pressure relief plug and the other was the chain tensioner O ring (pressure fed tensioners). I recently noticed a valve cover leaks. I just had them off to do a valve adjustment and put the covers on dry. Last time I used a very thin layer of sealer and had no leaks.

I think I have an inspection report from the previous owner who had the car checked out by Khalers (sp), but no other documentation that I remember. Here is a recap of the cars history as I know it. I owned it for about 8 yrs. Prior to that it sat in a Garage in Fremont, CA for about 10 yrs. Prior to that is was driven for a few years by Niles (the guy I bought it from) but he decided the gas mileage was not good and most likely the car needed some repairs so he upgraded to a Ford Escort (really) and buried the 911 in the garage. Niles told me he bought the car from the owner of Bridges Pontiac/Honda in Hayward, CA and it belonged to the dealership owner’s daughter. The story goes “one more ticket and I’m selling the car”. While cleaning out the interior after I got the car I found a gym membership card with a picture of Claudia Bridges - circa 1984?? The car had the original CA blue plate with a 1985 reg sticker, but I only had one, so if they called me on the carpet to produce a pair I wouldn’t have been able to do that, so I had no choice but to take the crappy new plates.

I have the A/C stuff (except the crusty hoses) but nothing is installed.
