    wtb: luggage compt. fiberboard cover (70-73)

    I would be interested in a method for forming the fiberboard as I have one that is in rough shape but has the brackets etc.

    get a steam iron set it on hottest steam setting.
    steam the cardboard thoroughly and reshape.
    when cool it will reharden.
    consider a coat of flat polyurethane to waterproof.

    innerestin'!

    i was thinking about trying to make one from thin sheet metal. doesn't really have any basis as i would think the factory would just pull the darn thing if they wanted to add lightness. but still could look kinda neat.
