PORSCHE at the Monterey Historics in '09

This is not a rumor. Steve Earle announced tonight at the conclusion of the post-Historics awards ceremonies for the this year participants that Porsche will be the featured marque for the event next August. This will be the West Coast Rennsport for next year. I wasn't at the '98 event, but those of you that were tell me it was the best attended Historics ever.

I can't wait to formulate plans to attend. This time it will be driving an old 911 not a stupid rental.

    Brian,

    Thanks for the advance notice.
I was making plans to go to Essen next year but this announcement has gazumped these German plans which included going to a local evening college to (re)learn German.
I went in '98 with some local friends/club members and had such a good time.
After being on this board and the Pelican site for a while now,I can't wait to put faces to names/handles.
Be afraid of the 'down under' invasion - and btw the ones who drink too much are from New Zealand !

    Cheers,
    Dennis.
1970 914-6 - materialised from the 'Lotto' garage into reality
    1971 2.2 911 S - now back in the UK - sob!
1975 Carrera Targa (ROW) - missed.
One of us is fast becoming a valuable antique.

I am trying to determine what the occasion is that Monterey is honoring Porsche next year? It is usually an anniversary of some sort?

I'll be there next year. Didn't anyone take pictures this year?

    Lightbulb

    Nick,

The race event dates are Friday through Sunday August 14th - 16th '09

YOU, have to determine when you want to start and finish your week...
The Monterey car events are starting earlier and finishing later every year...

    Cheers
