    72 Oil Flap / Door

    Were all the 1972 oil tank flap/doors made out of aluminum???

    John, all I can tell you is that my '72 oil door is non-ferrous. I haven't stripped it yet because it's the only portable piece with the original signal yellow, and I want to take it to the paint store for matching the paint. Whether it's aluminum or something else I don't know.

    Thanks Guys...
    Here is the one I have after stripping the paint....looks to be cast aluminum as is the hinge
