    H&H Rear Sway Bar kit

There is an NOS H&H Rear Sway Bar kit FS on this site that I am considering for my 69 E. When the Pneumatic suspension was replaced some time ago, an adjustable H&H 20 mm front sway bar was installed. No bar was added to the rear.

I am now autocrossing 4-5 times/yr with the car and get terrible plowing at low speeds even w/ bars set at loose, so I am contemplating what to put on. This H&H rear is smaller at 19mm and is also adjustable 3 ways so I can dial in further.

I have 21/27 TBs and other suspension upgrades done 3 years ago so this is the last of the changes. My question to you is if anyone has experience with H&H rear bars?

My concern is that these bars use U brackets to install to the arms & body. I don't figure they are as secure as welded brackets, but I'm 85% street & 15% autox, so I won't be stressing them all the time. Comments?

    Joe,

Curt E. has a complete set of H&H's on his '71 Targa; Try to PM him. I only have a front H&H. Is you car lowered?

    Nothing in back...yet...

Standard Bars, Lowered, 205/60s, H&H 19 in front with some really short endlinks. Suprisingly, quite good in and out of turns...but alas I think I may have blown out a rear shock last week. Also note there is some toe in, in the rear...

Yes I have lowered my car and can't get the front bar on its loosest settings because of this. (I think). My car handles real well on the road and the ass stays planted real good but I plow through low speed turns and can't get on the gas at all until I'm almost fully around .

If the price is right, go for it. The H&H products are NLA.

An off-the-shelf, commonly available 19mm Weltmeister rear bar is more than equivalent but probably more costly (old H&H vs new WM).

Have you tried adjusting the front/rear tire pressures to help minimize the understeer?

On the street, I set my 205/50/15 Falken Azenas to 28 front and 30 rear. At the autox, I pump them up to 38 lbs front & rear. I may try running 34 lbs in the rear next time out to see if I can get the tail out.

I always try to drive as smoothly as possible but the only time I've been able to get the rear end to break free is with throttle off oversteer in mid speed corners.
