    Replacing the Fuel Tank Screens

    Hi All,

In a previous post I had feed back to replace these for a good long term reliable car.......I haven't attempted this yet. Have others done this and if so is it a major job ? do I have to pull out the tank or is it simpler than that.

Also where can I buy the replacement screens.

    Cheers

    Replacing the Fuel Tank Screens

It sounds like you are referring to the filter sock on the output side of the tank. No, you don't need to remove the tank, yes you will need to drain the tank (I use a cheap electric pump to pump out the fuel, from the sender hole) remove the steering rack protection pan and then the fitting on the left bottom of the tank, should be a 27 mm wrench. That gets the filter sock in your hand, if its not torn then all you need to do is clean it with carb cleaner until you can see through all the mesh. If its torn it is available from the dealer.
