Authenticity ? Re. VIN Tag On Windshield Post

I am attempting to determine if 1969 911's had the VIN tag riveted onto the inside of the windshield post on the driver's side. I have not found one 1969 with this tag. My car is very early production, 119300093. Does anyone know when the tag was first installed?

    Thanks,

    Tom Scott

If US delivery, yes. If ROW, no.

Mine is a very early US delivery (I think) 119200054 and it does not have a tag. Then again, my car was a dried up crust monster sitting in the high CA desert for a period and was subsequently restored. They could have left that off if it came with the car, but I don't know why they would. So maybe my car did not have one?

My car is a 69S s/n 940 and was imported by Porsche to the US; originally delivered in Germany. It did not have the window pillar tag and when the car was restored it did not have the holes where the tag is located. I agree with Kenik.

Authenticity ? Re. VIN Tag On Windshield Post

I believe that the A pillar tag location only started with cars produced after January 1st 1969 production. i believe the U.S. standards only applied after that calender date.
