Baudette,
Here’s another car with plate GC-43789. This one was driven by Jesus Benjumea at Circuito de Miller, Circuito de Ofra, and Circuito de Jarma according to the photo captions.
Do you happen to know anything about this driver or these races?
There is a interesting Porsche prototype racer (908/02??) in the photo from Circuito de Miller.

yes...may I ask you, quite well known
thanks for taking the time to dig into island cars! I like that people post things from my land! Saldus
There are quite nice images of the circuits here in Tenerife...at some point I was surprised by the cars there were,...I would say there were Porsches of those "almost unique" ones you mention...but I have never delved into it. .. I was always reminded that they would run in Ofra... Nowadays, Ofra is an area that is not the best of Tenerife.

I don't know if it will continue anywhere. But... IT HAS PAPERS R I traffic in Spain.

Am I allowed offtopic? It is not a 911... Is it the car you indicate? I have never delved into other Porsche models from the Canary Islands... although all the threads come together and little by little I learn a little about each one... I enclose the description that goes with the image.
"VI Grand Prix of Tenerife (1970). Ofra Circuit. Snooping around the Scrutineering... One of the Porsche 908/02s, the one that will be driven by Jorge de Bagration (Escudería Nacional Calvo Sotelo). In the official training sessions, he will lap Ofra five times and achieve the best time on the fourth attempt (1'15".1'21"3
1'19"0
1'18"6
1'15"8
1'16"2
His main rival, the Catalan Juan Fernández and a second Porsche 908/02 (Escudería Montjuich-Tergal), suffering from a cold and tenths of a fever, could not get below 1'20"0 after trying four times (broken control change).
The race was awarded to him by Bagration and he was the author of the best fastest lap to Ofra (1'13"7)."

VI Tenerife Grand Prix (Ofra urban circuit, 1970). Jorge de Bagration (Escudería Nacional Calvo Sotelo), on a Porsche 908/02, undertakes the turn that connects with the upper part of the track, the one with the steepest slope. The photograph was obtained by RACING-SPA during the official practice sessions, a session in which many drivers were blinded by the sunset light and the almost invisible threat of the curbs. Jorge, after a heated discussion with the organizers, achieved the best time (1' 15'' ). This result reassured him after his third participation in Tenerife competitions. The personal disagreement was caused by the stubborn insistence of a sports commissioner when trying to impose on the vehicle the advertising of CEPSA, the main sponsor of the race, when Jorge was running for the CS (CALVO SOTELO) and had paid the registration fees - triple - exempt from race advertising. account that both firms were antagonists in the national energy sector. In the end, after the dialectical and Kafkaesque tantrum, sanity prevailed. However, that veteran Lagunero commissioner, who came to compete in the past on Fiat 1500, never returned to hold an official position in the sport and took refuge months later in golf.
The next day, Jorge won the race and set the best lap at 1' 13'' 7 (average 122.1 km/h), becoming the fastest driver in the history of Ofra (1968-1972).
