Åke Andersson Acropolis rally 1970






Åke Andersson on a visit to the garage and checked all Porsche rally nostalgia. All signs original plates that sat on Waldegård / Helmers rally cars. The signs donated by Helmers family. Åke Andersson took part in the same rallis and has much to tell from the rallys. He is still running rallis and for two weeks then he came third in the Midnight Sun Rally in a Porsche 911 of course. First place a Tutthill Porsche.

Have the sad news that Björn Waldegård is dead after a short illness. He was 70 years old. Bjorn Waldegård was one of Sweden's top rally drivers. He won the first edition of the World Rally Championship in 1979 and also has more wins in the Safari Rally, Monte Carlo Rally and the Swedish Rally.

Very sorry to hear this. He was a giant, both in rally in general, and in Porsche's early rally efforts. RIP.

I am also very sad and shocked to hear that. As Jim said he was a giant in rallying circles and in early Porsche circles as well. RIP Bjorn.
