A film of the 1970 London to Mexico World Cup rally has a few snippets of 911

Among other things he owned an official Porsche dealership in Denham England that was listed in the glovebox service stations booklet; an advert from there in a weekly motoring publication on my shelf:

Had a meeting today at Prodrive HQ England. A friend and I last had personal tour by Prodrive’s owner David (who started his career in motorsport as a rally co-driver) soon after they had relocated to the current site so it was very interesting to return today to see how things had developed in the business on that site in (the decade?) since the last visit. Saw a lot more interesting stuff today but understandably there was restricted photography so
here is a link for those not familiar with this world class business— their public domain website which hopefully avoids risk of me posting a picture of something that I shouldn’t :

    The 911 SC/RS is a great car.

The little monster next to it is funny too. I always loved the 6R4

Another angle of the 911 with the 6R4 in background
Don’t wish to digress too much but the 6R4 was an early example of diversification by Patrick and some of the talented folks at Williams Grand Prix Engineering. An example used to be kept in the Williams heritage museum building at the Williams factory in Grove when I worked there — that car plus a Renault touring racecar (and incongruously a single red Scuderia F1 car — there is a story for presence of that Ferrari) rather stood out among the extensive private collection of Williams F1 single seater racers they’d retained both in the museum and in the impressive storage racks behind that few beyond employees got to see.
