    the car pictured above in the post by Thomas is right under your nose.......I took the attached photo of it at the Blackhawk Museum just a few days ago.

    That last photo you posted is of the "semi werks" entry in the 1973 East African Safari for Bill Fritschy / Kim Mandeville. They retired with a broken gearbox.

    Do you know what rally the words (on what looks like a poster) refer to?
    I am also keen to discover the chassis number of this RS or anything else about its history, if anyone knows.

    this car may have also been a "practice car" for the official team prior to the rallye before being given over to Fritschy for the event. There is evidence that Porsche did that at other safari rallies in the early 1970's
