    65/66 final transition #2

Sheet completed with our know data. Some very strange stuff going on at time of MY transition, and a lot of the date must be erroneous in regards to production date(birth date) and delivery date. I have marked some of those with red dates. I also see that Kenikhs car has a 64 color code like the car(302125) some think might be a 65 because of the 64 color code, I am not so sure, because a customer could probably ask for a 64 color(special) for the 66 model year. Also important fact is that the VIN orrder was probably not completely sequential, but on the other hand I do not think they could be too far apart in order of completion.

Please help us verify production dates(not delivery dates) and we need more data!

I have added a new and edited list further down the tread.

    Thumbs up

    John good job!

One thing to consider when looking at odd in sequence cars is the options that it came w/. For instance 301945 has a SR and a few extras more. I tend to believe that colors and cars w/ rare options - like a SR - were done in small badges.

For instance my 66 / 911, 304375, is Polo red. 304385 was Polo red as well.

BTW the guy who owns 304385 has a nice site, check it out and you will have one car more for the dbase!

Just a thought one the color sequence/batch idea, the pictures and movies I have seen from the factory(65-73) , the cars are color/SR wise randomly coming down the assembly line and out of the factory.

    Organization of the info

John, this is cool. As the quality of information becomes known a much finer definition of what the factory made and when is happening. This is good stuff.

The volume of May and April looks to be a bit askew but with further cars it should even out. John Straub's car #301 111 (I believe) has a Kardex and COA with an April production.

Thanks Bob, I will correct John 1111, but 1098 has a date of 12 may? If Johns is confirmed (Cardex) I will regards that as correct and not the 1098 may build.. Of course the 1098 chassis could have been put aside and completed at a later date.

Do you want me to send you the sheet?

    Sorry guys,

I just looked, my COA say 05/12/1965, Birth Date/Delivery Date.

I don't know if this helps.

They have both 300324 and 302676

strange dates Apr on 324 and Aug on 676 cant be right.... I think the Apr date must be delivery date for the 324.

BTW the 324 are rebuilt as a cool R!
