    Dreamer...

Dream on....Quoting form the EBAY AD:

"With Carrera RSs going for 2.5 to 3 times as much for what is essentially the same car with flared fenders and 300 more cc's."

    Well, I guess, like some say...'it can't hurt to ask!;

    reserve?

At least there is no reserve....

Its not even a CIS, not that they are worth 100k, but closer than a MFI 73 by most accounts

I thought the price was pretty high too . . . but then I got to thinking. Since we are all owners of these early cars and want to see our investments grow . . . then why be critical of a seller that is trying to raise the tide of this market?

If the car is an honest, solid, clean example their is every reason in the world that he (seller) should be asking exactly what he thinks the market may pay (and it only takes one buyer to confirm this).

    I've recently seen prices of RS Carrera's over 300K (Frank G.) and 911S's (Eade H.) pushing 150K . . . so why not 100K for this car?

Yeah, RS's and S's are the coveted examples, but a clean T or E is every bit of a Porsche and can be just as much of a pleasure to own/drive. (Yes I realize this is the Early 'S' forum . . . and yes I'm biased)

What about that Signal Yellow E for 145K . . . in Las Vegas? Yeah it has not sold . . . but you know in time it will . . . they all do.

So in this economy . . . I hope this car sells and I hope every Early Porsche sells like it was the last one on earth . . .

Ok, my flame suit is on . . . give me your best shot.

I think that the car has to have original paint, at this price.

Now that's an interesting discussion . . . what are the 'must have' items for a non-S car to go on the market for 100K?

    1) Original Paint
    2) Documentation
    3) Numbers Matching
    4) Does color matter?
    5) What options?
    6) What particular years?
    7) etc . . .

Since we are discussing paint, I would like to get some expert opinions.

What would be considered more valuable?

    1. Original paint that is badly broken down on the roof and hood

    2. Repainted in original color to a very high standard
