How do I find my 70S US history?

I have a 1970 2,2S with a very interesting engine and gearbox. The engine is an aluminium 2 litre block build with other cylinders and Weber carburettors. The custom 2 litre has no engine numbers on the fan, but very fast and pulls easily to the limiter @ 7200 rpm. The box number is 901/13 7198766 with some kind of "Flugplatz" gearing. (Nice on small roads but a core on highways). It is infact more like an historic racer than a road car.

    Chassis number is: 9110300328

    And specs:Type: 911534=911S Coupe 2,2l 180hp / Motor 6300505 / delivered 01.Dec.`69 to Grand Rapids / Color 2323=bloodorange / Interior 11=leatherette black,middle of seats basketweave / Options 453=Radio Blaupunkt Frankfurt , 470=comfort-equipment

I suspect the car has been used for racing since it has 8" Fuchs at the back and also a real RS ducktail. Does anyone know this car (came to Norway around 1999) and if so, do you know the story? I would love to know it.

    Thanks for any help!

    Thanks Raj,

The car had previously S/T bumper up front, but I swapped it for a new S bumper (because of parking etc) I still have the S/T item on the shelf. I will try to get in contact with the old owner but I think the trail will stop in Norway.

    Cheers,

    Christer

You are doing this car a great favour Trond, the 70S chassis with your new 70S engine is as close as you can get without the original engine. Post a few pics when you have detailed the engine. BTW it will be interesting to know what hides inside the fast reving alu engine that was previosly in your car(Christers old car)!

Did you get any info on former owners that you are willing to post?

Sure will, I will install the hydraulic tensioners from the 2.7 i am "decommissioning" together with the necessary touch-ups of the engine externals.

    - strip the red color from fan & air ducts and apply black to ducts
    - will change the plug wires..
    - .. more.. ?

The alu engine is so strong, I dont think I want to take it apart yet. The casting from what Christer wrote down "Engine cast # 901.101.102.0R".

Alu engine was made 6/67 according to the stamp/casting left front of crank.

The 2.2S engine is getting detailed for a driver, that is cleanup and back to original looks. Have ordred collars and also spacers so I will beef up or change the tensioners before engine goes in.
