FS: '68 S engine and transmission

I have for sale a '68 S engine, serial number 4081055, and matching 5-speed transmission. Engine has about 50k miles and is complete and ready to bolt in. Chain tensioners (non-pressure-fed) and chain sprocket supports are the later versions. Asking $12,500 (plus shipping) for both - don't want to separate.

Pictures don't show exhaust, but the engine now has a complete factory system. Also, the transmission was painted black years ago when both were very briefly used in a kit car - the owner thought that would be cool. The paint can be removed.

The engine also comes with the original, black metal air filter housings. But, the engine sounds much better with these filters.

Nice looking running gear. Is the motor a magnesium or aluminum case and are the carbs IDS?

    mag yes

Hi. It appears to be a magnesium case engine, with the original IDS carbs.

Don't know who makes the fiberglass housings, but the elements have a Purolator part number. Somebody out there with catalogs from the '70s might find out (or remember).

No need. They're free with the engine/transmission purchase.
