    FS 1972 T Targa

I don't know much about the history of this car other than it was owned by an older gentleman for the last twenty or so years, rarely driven, has low indicated miles (around 47k but odometer is non-functional). It is a very, very strong running car with perfectly tuned MFI in tact. Car starts, idles and pulls perfectly through all gears. 915 transmission shifts perfectly even into first while moving quickly.

I have had the car on a lift and the only rust I can find is on the "wing" that goes from the tub to the right front fender. It has been repainted in light yellow but I don't think it's a Porsche color and it needs to be wet sanded and buffed. The targa top is ok shape. Previous owner had an affinity for "shoe-goo" as a fix for small pin holes so it should be recovered. Seats have also been reupholstered in an incorrect fabric.

It does have five correct 6x15 Fuchs. Interior suggests to me that the miles are close to correct. Dash has only one tiny crack at the radio speaker. Radio is aftermarket. It has a period correct rear speaker enclosure, I think a dealer item as I've seen a few of these in early cars. Included are all emblems, door pockets, etc.

Here's the deal: I've got to make this car go away very quickly, divorce related. I need the simplest, quickest, (hopefully local and cash) deal that I can achieve.

Bottom line, this is an extremely solid driver. It runs better than my 70E (although not as quick). This car can make it across country as is. If you've got your heart set on a concours 72, I believe this is a very viable candidate for complete restoration.

Looking to get as close to $15000 as possible (I honestly believe this is a screaming deal). Car is in Denver.
