73 911T Metallic Champagne Color Code

Hello Everyone, This is my first post and currently I do not own a 911T. I'm in the process of purchasing one and once I do I will post pictures.

I came accross a 73 and according to the seller, the exterior paint is Metallic Champagne. I've done much research and cannot find the color code for 1973. In fact, the only metallic champagne color that I found was for Porsche 912's and it was offered as a special color in 1976 (color code 514-9-3).

Can anyone shed some light on this issue. Was metallic champagne offered as a special order color for 1973 911T's? If so, whats the color code?

Champagne Yellow is a Porsche color, but not metallic, and not in 1973.

Rob, thanks for the quick reply. Metallic Champaign is a Porsche 912 color. Is it possible that this might have been an option for 911's?? Attached is a link to Hemmings showing a "metallic champaign" 911t.

It was probably repainted with a later color. Ask them to check the paint code on the inner door frame.

I'm going to go out on a small limb here, but here's a 73 911T (coupe) in grey beige metallic, which for all the world looks like "champagne metallic".

It says that 4 cars were painted this color...but could have been more. I recall seeing a 73T targa in this color in California back in the late 80's.

    There is another possibility

Silver cars used a two stage Glasurit paint. It is common for the original clear coats to age to a yellow tint causing the overall color to appear as champagne. Then when the car had a repaint the paint shop matched the existing color so the jambs would match. My 71 T is this way, it has original jambs, but has been painted a champagne color to match. If you look inside the door shell where there isn't any clearcoat the color is clearly silver. I bet this is the case with the car you are looking at.
