    Carburetor Synchronizer

Someone here or elsewhere some years ago recommended the jcwhitney carb synchronizer for Webers/PMO's. I recall his comment that he'd had it for 30 years and it had worked fine. It is about 1/2 the price ($30) of the STE unit usually favored. Just tried it. It appears well made and it worked perfectly. Doesn't read quite as conveniently at idle on a Porsche (because of the position of the indicator) as the STE but is actually better when you seek higher rpm readings. Find it on the jcwhitney site. FWIW.

They "appear" to be well built and still say "made in west Germany", that was 18 years ago!
How did you read the guage? It faces upward and unless the motor is out of the car, seems difficult.

Not perfect but works fine. Closest 4 throats are easy; flashlight helps with the back two. And, for the rears, you can eye the position of the needle then bring the unit towards you to see what the reading at that point was. JCW probably bought 10000 of these in 1985.
