    Chuck, great find! WOW, the brakes look just like the real deal. The two-stroke noise might take a little while to get used to - ahhh to be a kid again. Very impressive replications.

    Now for some grass roots schtuff, give my brother and sister a few more minutes we'll have the bugs work worked out, should be good to go soon...

    Ok, highjacking remorse has set in...Chuck, I kinda feel guilty for crashing your kewl thread on the P G Z hand crafted models and the resulting discussions that would have followed...

    Obviously what prompted my posting frenzy, I saw the photo of the kid in the red Ferrari 500F2 scale rig and instantly thought of similar photo my Father took of his three kids in 1970 pounding away on our home-built. At least you now know why (I'm the chief werks mechanic with the hat on). Of course, there are two early 911's in the background, so at least it's somewhat on forum topic.

    where have those days gone??? when you had to build your own...
    when Dad was the inspiration....by example....

    Today, if you're lucky, Dad will buy you a ready made one because they wont let you build your own for the soapbox races...
    I "kid" you not...today this is a professional organization (the Soapbox derbys) regulated where only approved kits are admissible and have many rules.

    the PGZ models above are likely expensive with very few places one can "play".
    They certainly will fire up the passion in any youngster taking the wheel.
    Now they'll grow up wanting a real Ferrari, a great motivator for high achievers!

    Yes, great memories! The 911 inspired wood cart we made was pretty advanced for us when we were little. Workable steering, powered from behind (ala 911), recycled wood, good stuff. Too bad we lived on a flat street. Another good memory at that house was my Dad's tethered Cox gas powered model slamming into the curb!
