I always stop short when I see the black anodized chrome. To me it's such an important touch to really accentuate the earlier cars. Of course I could be partial, my own backdate does have polished trim:

    1988 w/ G50 currently masquerading as a '72ish non-RS

That car was on Ebay last week and it stopped @ $26000.00. He should have put the anodized chrome treatment on it. He would have sold it for $50K....

That's a great point. Mine cost considerably less than $50k though and has a twin plug 3.6. Is your RS backdate still on the market? Now would be a great time to mention it and put up a link...

like it too. could've gone fixed back seats for a more agressive look (and weight savings i'd think) since he's already got the harness bar in.

then black tabs on the door pulls and thinner carpet w/ no floor mats.

what exactly is involved sheet metal wise with these conversions? is the structure compromised?

    Erik:

You should have cornered Aaron at the rally. He's the expert on these things. They (Zuffenhausen/Charlotte NC) are doing a 964 backdate project. I saw it and you can't tell where they've been under the hood.
Piece of cake. Better everything on that car. Suspension pickups, etc..
They also have a "Mary Stuart" replica he's been working on. He's a very talented guy with "the eye" for aesthetics. Arsty fartsy background.

    Best,

Mike, did you put the sport seats in your new car?

    Hi Ron,

No, I actually sold them to an expat in France who needed them to make his 'S' correct. I ordered new ones from Stefan at GTS and had him add a few goodies (height adjustment, seat heat). I still came out ahead.

I saw the picture you posted. Are you building a garage around that car now?
