    Drove Home New '73s

Just drove back from Granbury, TX to Tahoe in my "new" 1973 Lilac 911S. I waited almost 20 years to buy a car like this. My wife Taylor and I drove through rain storms in New Mexico, sand storms in Arizona, snow in Utah and started in 13 degree temperatures this morning In Ely, NV for the final leg on Hwy 50 back home. "Plumster" (the car's new name) did well! Along the way I prepared my "To Do" list and now the car is on the jack for its initial work. Tomorrow the first set of parts will be ordered. Oh what fun it is.....

Welcome to the board and congratulations on your new car.

Here are some pics of it at our Hill Country Rally last year.

Enjoy it. BTW I bought his other Lilac a '72 T roller for a project. How does one guy end up with 2 lilac cars?

Congratulations!! At first I didn't really like the color but now it's really growing on me. Must have been a really nice drive with the windows rolled down driving through the hills.

BTW what was the bump everybody was talking about just below the engine latch?

    Bubble

EA911, I assume you meant to say "bubble below the door lock".
It's where the formerly loose door pocket scraped the paint resulting in some rust - I'm not concerned. I spent some time under the car and it definitely was a dry climate car with excellent body integrity.

    Wow......good for you.

Congratulations on a timeless new toy.

Have to admit, watching your nice Purple car get bought and the nice 71 Conda Green S coupe get picked up -for what I would say were really good prices... was tough on me.

Parking that extra cash for a special car isnt easy

So many cars- now so little cash.

    Road Trip

Nothing better than a good road trip. Reminds me of driving my 356 SC Cab from Wilmington NC to Eugene Oregon 6 years ago. It is these kinds of adventures that keeps my wife from tuning me out when I talk of getting another P-car.
    Congratulations

    Congratulations with a beautiful car!

Except from the lights, it looks just like mine.
