I wondered where this car was. Oddly enough this Targa (227) is one # higher than my S Targa (226) which I sold just last summer. A few years back I found out this car was owned by someone in my local PCA and was located only 30 miles away. Our cars were serviced by the same mechanic too. I was able to look this car over once while our cars were in the shop at the same time.

I think Stoddard did the paint in their shop. I am surprised to see the engine now has only 1500 miles on a rebuild because I thought Stoddard did the rebuild also when they did the paint. I maybe mistaken about that though. My Targa was a color change to Signal Orange but the original color was Light Yellow so it was interesting to see what my car 'should' look like. The price strikes me as a bit 'wishfull thinking'.

    Thanks

Brian,I agree on pricing. If it were "original",it would demand that # and more. With all the restoration costs which show well on this ,you are upside down in a heart beat.It looks to be a nice job and is nice looking in my opinion, although Jeff S would still say it was a parts car!

Looks like a nice enough car that is priced beyond top of the market. I highly doubt it will move at this price. But, hey, you never know. I have an original-paint '72 in light yellow and don't think it would approach $79K. The market is just not there IMO.

You got the quote wrong....it's "ski car".....

Sadly we'll never know his comments.

Regarding miles on the engine. Steinel's Autowerks in Twinsburg, OH did the rebuild about 1500 miles ago. The cost was $16,330.
