need info on hood trunk lights

I seem to find a mixed variation of longhoods, some with 1 light and others with 2 interior lights
some have one light and on the other side there is a small riveted plate covering the factory opening
my 67 only has 1 light/hole for only one light no other hole on the other side...
which is correct for the various years?
67 69 72? one or two openings in the hood?

My 72 had a hole for one light, but no light when I purchased it in 1979. It now has a light.

Seems like the "Restorer's Guide to Authenticity" has a note about lights. Can't remember for sure what the breakdown was.

My understanding is that in certain years two trunk lights were part of the S options you could order. My 1971 T has "S" options and it has two trunk lights. There were a couple of threads on this topic in the past if i recall correctly.

I believe two lights were normal until 72 when they went to one.

To add to the mix........As I was told the 911 had 2 lights, 912 had 1...mine being originally a 12er had one spot for a light...yet no light. another thing to add to my to-do list.
