Thread: Question to Seat Police on Recaro bucket

Period correct Recaro bucket seat for 1970 911S?

    Hello,

though I tried to find out the answers from previous posts, I am not quite sure and would like to ask for the seat experts help.

I recently purchased a Recaro bucket seat which I want to use for my Nov 1970 2.2 S/T project. Unfortunately without headrest, so I am looking for the period correct one.

From my 71 2.4T (in the background) I have two standard seats with headrests, though I am not sure whether they are original.

Now my questions to the seat experts among you are

    1. is the bucket seat correct for a Nov 1970 'sports purpose' car?
    2. are the headrests I have correct for the bucket seat? Or do I need to get the smaller round ones?

Thanks for your help, very much appreciated!

Hey Surfer. The seat works but the headrests look to be later aftermarket. They are not correct. You need the "D" shaped headrest.

Do you have the rest of the seat brackets? You will need those too.

Headrests are wrong; IIRC, you need the stock sport seat headrests.

    Seat brackets

Wow, now it works with the response. Thanks first of all!

Actually, I do not have the rest of the seat brackets and to be honest, I do not really know how that looks like. I only know the tilt brackets which I do not need as the back seats will not be accessible.
Any pictures around of the non-tilt lower part of the brackets?

I don't have any pictures handy (out of town). However, there are a lot of great threads in the archives with all of pictures you will need. It's all here, just a search function away. Try looking at posts from SWBSAM and SOTERIK.
