Need A Mechanic on Long Island, New York

Looking for a recomendation for a trustworthy mechanic to rebuild my 73 911 S engine that blew up yesterday while I was on the Meadowbrook Parkway

Not sure of the total extent of damage but car felt like it was running on about 2 cylinders...that cant be a good sign....

Prefer closer to home on Long Island but will take car anywhere in the New York
    area ......

    Thanks for your help.....

Talk to Burt - small shop with a terrific mechanic (Humberto Mota) in Mineola. Burt was formerly long time Porsche guy for Autosport. He has worked on my 356s, early 911s, 993 Turbo S, and GT3RS. I trust him totally. Small shop = good. 516 877 9899.

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

You can also try S registry's own Dick Hyland, he is in Pine Bush, about an hour north of the city. He knows it ALL when it comes to early 911S's. He also tunes my Roadster. His contact info is:
