more work on the ST on the weekend. fabbed up this device to secure the centre fill cap for when i have to leave the car unattended.
it attachs by 2 wingnuts (the screws in the bonnet remain) and can be removed in seconds.

Good job !
But an easier way will be to have a lockable cap, so you can replace it when you leave your car alone... I should be able to get these in 1-2 months. I will let you know !

Dave B. @ TRE figured this one out. He doesn't have a photo but it is a very cool setup!!! Aircraft style lock under the cap.

jd - i thought about that, but my cap is flush with the bonnet and you need the fin to get it on and off.
rick - i looked at dave's setup - but it doesn't prevent someone stealing the cap itself. this thing does that, plus it stops fuel theft/tampering (and it was made from scrap!)

hey raj
thanks for the pics - i love the red stripe indicating the 'on' position of the cap.
we thought about using a padlock through the cap - but i have a very thin f/g bonnet and if someone opened it by mistake it would destroy it.
i do like the R type bonnet hinges on that car though... has anybody ever fabbed a pair up??

raj,
no worries. i've seen that wheel detail before and like it. don't know how i could do it to the minilites on the rear of my car though - must investigate...
have you even seen these hinges offered anywhere?

Very slick Ryan.....
But I reckon pretty soon you'll be slotting one end so you'll be able to just loosen one wing nut and pivit the thing out of the way without taking both wing nuts off evey time...... but that's just me .......
Cheers mate, good job
