    New Jack

or, how a blind squirrel found a nut For some reason, my wife bought me a jack for my birthday. She knows less than nothing about cars so how she stumbled upon this is beyond me. I've already got a couple and just bought a 2-post lift .... but this thing is different. It's a jack with integrated jack stands. News to me. You jack up one end of the car, hit the release button, leaving the 'jack stand' in place. Then jack up the other end with the 2nd jack stand and voila. Works like a charm.

Very nifty, Curt. Give 'er a kiss...

In the same general vein, I have come across a very nice new product for the shade tree mechanic in all of us. I was at a Road America track day last week and met a guy with a Subaru WRX Sti on some very low-angle of attack and lightweight ramps. They're made by a company in the U.P. (Curt knows where that is) of Michigan and their website is here: http://www.raceramps.com/ . They are available in quite a few configurations and likely have something for nearly every use. They're made of a high density foam (?) and are covered with a grippy, almost sand-like material - won't slip, I have tested 'em. I bought four of the RR-TJ-S 3" ramps with stops and now I can actually get a lowered car high enough for a lift.
