We have summer projects in this part of the country.

Our last race is the first weekend in December, and then next season's first race is the first weekend in February. That is only two months, and you need to celebrate Christmas with the family?

It's too hot here in the summer to go to the track so we do projects at that time.

Of course, your temps are the same all year. Where is the closest track from San Diego?

No real off season here either.
    tracks drive time,
10mins AX/DE track at Qualcomm stadium.
    3hrs Cal Speedway
4hr WSIR Big Willow and Streets of Willow.
    5hr Buttonwillow.
    6hrs Vegas tracks
    7hrs Laguna Seca
Many track guys keep all the street stuff to re-install later, that's what I'm doing here.
All good fun, started early, getting ready now for some spring time "Targa California " power touring.

Nice vid Mike. How long is Buttonwillow?

And I'm sure I've got this totally wrong, but you're getting this car ready for Targa California?

Buttonwillow Raceway offers 20 race & test configurations,
each of which may be run clockwise or counter-clockwise, purpose designed to emulate street and road racing courses.
The video is from this popular configuration, clockwise.
I think it's about 3 miles, maybe still the longest track in So Cal.

Yes, looking forward to Targa Californina.

Yes sir correct again, same car.
My 911 is more like a transformer, it can be any shape it wants to be.
I've had the same 911 project for a few winters.

Might want to raise the ride height 1/16 of an inch or so ..... Those cattle grates last year were killers!

true, I'll need to optimise my street set up.
Already replaced the 6" coil overs with 8"s, the RSR kit provides another couple inches of clearance too.
A couple clicks on the JRZ should help smooth out the bumps.
Should you get stuck behind me maybe some mud flaps/rock deflectors on those 14" wide rears would be a good idea too?
    CE what's your winter project?

Yeah, do all of our paint jobs a favor and install some mudflaps!!

My projects for the 911 are SC brakes, front oil cooler, and close-ratio gearbox. Should be ready for Willow during the Lit Show weekend. My big project right now is the 81 quattro rally car. Doing a Group 4 'tribute/clone' all-weather (it's snowing here as we speak) fun car.

How do they get the roads closed in CA to do the competitive sections?

That is a nice lap at Buttonwillow. It looks like a fun track.

I have Laguna Seca and Sears Point on my "to do" list. I am certainly not going to tow out to CA so I decided to sign up for one of their driving courses. Fly out, drive, fly home; and let someone else work on the car.

Wow you are busy, fixing up 2 cars at once.
Close ratio gears and throttle steer good times.
What would flaps look like on an RSR?
I took the 917 rims off my list now that my 401k is just a 1k.
