    Photo posting size

Is there any way to increase the 97.7 size limit? I personally find it quite a chore to go to a re-size site and go back and fourth trying to get it small enough to be acceptable. Its so much easier on Pelican and 356 Registry. The 356 site allows 500kb. I find many times there is something I want to post, but simply don't have the time to.

Is it possible to make this change?

    Rob,

I know it's a pain.... however most computer operating system 'packages' have a simple 'resize' program within them...... right click, resize to small, that's it......

Conversely, I find some who post on the RGruppe message board post their pics 'full size/full resolution' so when I click on them, with my small screen, I might get one fender on the whole car....

Sorry, but I don't see our site changing anytime soon.....

    Cheers,
    Chuck

Agree with Rob - it can be a major PITA, takes a long time in many cases and sometimes results in photos being way too small to view properly. I've got some small scans of a magazine article on the 70 TDF ST being discussed right now but can't post them because if I resize them any smaller, they're unreadable.

Pelican has it licked with their auto-resizing feature. I'd like to eventually have a similar feature on the RG forum so we don't have the overly large photos that are just as bad.

There are a number of web based image hosting sites. Some (like photobucket) are free, while others with a myriad of features (smugmug) have a nominal annual fee. I use smugmug and find it indispensable for web sharing. I first select the image, then choose a size, and finally (Smugmug automatically does the "copy" job) simply paste it to the host page, where appropriate. Although not related to this question, one can also copy the browser address of a full album you wish to share with someone, paste it to an E-mail and then they can click on your link and, voila'
