    two-post lift jacking points?

Where's the best place to put the lifting pads on the early cars?

Is it safe to place the pads on the vertical seams where the wheel wells meet the pan like in this picture? http://www.europeancollectables.com/...to_sequence=31

I guess it is since European Collectables does it....but I'm a bit paranoid as I have a VW GTI where a previous owner or mechanic mashed a similar seam on the car, and I dented a floorpan many years ago on another car as I placed the jack in the wrong place....

It depends on the pads your lift has. The old ones with the metal pads or thin rubber covers crush those seams. My new lift has thick rubber pads that allow the seam to just sink in, no damage.
